In the third quarter of 2022, the top 5 navigation and maps applications on iOS in Belgium showed interesting trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here's a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting from around 13.5K at the end of June and peaking at approximately 22K in early August, before dropping down to about 9.5K by the end of September. The app maintained a steady number of weekly active users, fluctuating slightly around 1.7M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a similar trend in downloads, beginning at nearly 9.7K in late June and reaching its peak at around 16.1K by late July. However, downloads decreased to approximately 7.2K by the end of September. Weekly active users showed some variability, starting at about 1.5M and peaking at nearly 1.53M in late August, before settling at around 1.41M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth maintained relatively low but stable download numbers, ranging from around 1.2K to 2K throughout the quarter. Active users remained consistent, hovering around 15K to 17K each week.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw modest weekly downloads, starting at about 1.4K in late June and ending at around 757 by the end of September. Revenue showed a notable spike, reaching $91 in the last week of September. Active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at approximately 4.9K in late July and again in early September.

Finally, TomTom GO Navigation had a steady weekly revenue trend, starting at around $5.4K in late June and gradually decreasing to around $2.3K by the end of September. Downloads were fairly consistent, hovering around 1.1K to 1.4K for most of the quarter, with a dip to about 478 in mid-September. Active users showed a gradual increase initially, peaking at around 3.1K in early August, before declining to approximately 2.5K by the end of September.
